Marianne Arnold

Marianne Arnold, age 90, of Hope Mills, North Carolina, passed away on September 27, 2026. Born in Germany on October 27, 1935, Marianne lived a life marked by quiet thoughtfulness, steady kindness, and a love that reached generously into the lives of those around her. Her presence was a beautiful gift—one that inspired family and friends through the simple, enduring ways she cared, listened, and showed up for others.

Marianne was born to Johann and Christina Ebersberger and was the youngest of four children. While living in Germany, she met her husband, Milton Arnold, and together they welcomed five children. In 1975, she moved to the Fayetteville, North Carolina area, where she continued building a life centered on family, faith, and the everyday moments that make a home.

A devoted member of Northwood Temple for 20 years, Marianne’s faith and commitment were reflected in the respect she showed others and the warmth she extended to those she met. She also found joy in gardening and in socializing—simple pleasures that suited her gentle spirit and her sincere interest in people.

Marianne was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her children, Eddie Arnold and his wife, Dorothy, Donald Arnold, Dianne Rhines and her husband, Raymond, Ronnie Arnold, and Hans Arnold and his partner Perry Grantham; her loving fiance, John Dawson; her grandchildren, Dale Moxley, Heather Bullins, Angel Arnold, Grace Scottin, Thomas Rhines, Gabrielle Rhines, Hannah Arnold, Dustin Arnold, and Kelly Arnold; eight great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved dog, Spot.

Marianne will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection—for her kind-hearted nature, her loving devotion, and the inspiration she gave simply by being herself. Her memory will remain a comfort and a blessing to all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Marianne's home from 1:00 until 4:00 located at 2211 Coffman Street Fayetteville, NC.
