Marie Lue Jones

Marie was born in St. Ann, Jamaica on the 28th of August 1946 to Eva Edwards and Alan Jones. She is the second oldest of four children. Her siblings are Joshua Jones (Gloria ), Sylvia Senior (Clive ), and Frances Blissett (Russel).

Marie was raised in Middle Buxton, St. Ann, Jamaica. She was a small-town girl with big dreams. She excelled in school and taught for a short time. Later, she moved to Kingston, where she worked as a secretary. She also worked at the post office along with other jobs. She also lived and worked in the Grand Cayman Islands and later in Connecticut before retiring and moving to North Carolina.

She is the mother of five children: Mauvia Christensen (Robert), Dalkeith Denniser (Natalie), Andrea Green (Chris), Nathalie Walker, and Terri-Leigh Parler (Benjamin). She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Joshy. She has 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was strong in her faith and committed to continuing to trust in the Lord.

May she rest in peace and continue to sing... "every little thing is gonna be alright!”

A viewing will be held for family and friends on June 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 5810 Rockfish Road, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348 - 1877. Interment will follow at the Hope Mills Cemetery, 4850 Legion Rd, Hope Mills, NC.
