OBITUARY
Marlene Olivia Ingram
October 31, 1958 – May 9, 2022

IN THE CARE OF
Reeves Funeral Home
Marlene Olivia Ingram, age 63, of Fayetteville, North Carolina passed away
peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 4:51 p.m. surrounded by her children and
loved ones. Marlene entered this world on October 31, 1958, in Puerto Cabezas,
Nicaragua to her late father George Mertins and her late mother Hope Mertins.
Marlene is most remembered affectionately as “Nana.” She was a daughter, a
sister, a mother, a wife, a grandmother, and a friend to many. She loved life. She
loved people, and never met a stranger. She has helped raise and leave a permanent
mark on so many children through the years.
Marlene lived life with passion and always took the road less traveled. She was
always known to show kindness and compassion. Her famous quote “be a good
citizen” will be a perpetual reminder to all who knew her. Her generosity knew no
bounds. All these words expressed cannot capture or encapsulate her unique and
amazing free spirit.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Devon Ingram, age 44, Amber
Palama, age 40, and Derek Ingram, age 39. She also leaves her legacy behind to
her three grandchildren Anakelia Palama, Melani Palama, and Archer Ingram.
She is also survived by her baby sister Pamela Mertins and older sister Brenda
Bailey. Marlene Olivia Ingram has now joined her late baby brother Paul Mertins
and other older sister Sue Wallace in eternal peace in heaven.
A visitation service will be held for Marlene Olivia Ingram Saturday June 11, 2022
at Reeves Funeral Home at 3308 N Main St, in Hope Mills, NC 28348 from 2 pm
– 4 pm. She will be having a celebration of life remembrance at Landfall Condo’s
Guest House the same day from 6 pm – 11 pm for all friends and family
