Mary Elizabeth Chesnutt

Mary was born on October 31, 1947 to William and Mary Whitehart.

She was a delightful lady who enjoyed laughing, and always wanted everyone around her to be happy. She loved the beach and fishing in her spare time. She was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she loved her church family. Mary was a loving soul with a generous heart. Her pride and joy was her family.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Roger Hedrick; as well as her son-in-law Keith Hunt. Her furbaby Mickey surely met her at Heaven’s gate as well.

She leaves behind her legacy in her husband of 37 wonderful years, Ronnie Chesnutt; her daughters, Annette Deaton and her husband James, and Dawn Hunt; her grandchildren, Jessica Deaton, Josh Deaton, Brian Haberny, Gary Hunt, and William “Bud” Hedrick; great grandchildren, Addison and Eva; brothers, William Whitehart and his wife Ann, John Whitehart and his wife Gloria, and Richard Whitehart; sister, Phyllis Freeman; brother-in-law, David Chesnutt and his wife Kelly; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mary will also be dearly missed by her dear friends, Miriam, and Frances.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Hope Mills, NC.
