Mary L Ikyasang, 74, passed away on September 5, 2026. Born on August 17, 1952, Mary was the youngest of twelve children, a beginning that helped shape a life marked by steady courage, quiet thoughtfulness, and a generosity that was felt most deeply by those closest to her. She attended Saint Pauls High school.
Mary dedicated herself to her work with care and constancy, serving as manager at Tastee Freeze and Hardee’s. In roles that demanded patience and strength, she met each day with a dependable spirit and an attentive concern for others—qualities that defined her both at work and at home.
Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Ikyasang, and her grandson, Joseph Jacobs. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ambrose Ikyasang; her child, Robert Ikyasang; her grandchildren, Johnathan Jacobs, Adrian Ikyasang (Charly), and Katelyn Ikyasang; her brother, Buddy Smith; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other friends. Above all else, Mary loved her family more than anything, and her legacy will live on in the lives she nurtured and the love she gave so freely.
Mary found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures. She loved to fish, loved going to the beach, and enjoyed making ceramics and macrame. She also loved western movies, welcoming their familiar stories with the same steady warmth she brought to everyday life.
