I had the privilege as a young 2nd Lt., to serve with First SGT Coleman in 1977-1978' Fox Trot 12th MP OSUT Bn., Ft. McClellan. As someone fresh out of MP Officer Basic School, I needed him to teach me about the role of an NCO, and he did. Rest In Peace Top.

It was my great pleasure to serve as one of First Sergeant Coleman's drill sergeants at Fort McClellan, 1978-79. He was a wonderful non-commissioned officer who served his nation with great distinction and positively influenced the military careers of me and thousands of others. Rest well brother.

 I am very sorry  for your loss sgt coleman  was my first sergeant in basic training  f company 12th  M.P. He was a great man and a great  mentor to all us young.  Recruits he will be missed

As one who served under 1SGT Coleman  I can say he was a good man and leader. My condolences to his family and friends.

We have no words that can ease your pain. Ron's death hit those that knew him hard, we can only imagine your deep sense of loss. Helen and I wish we could be there, but we are unable to make the trip. Ron was a fine man and a good friend and we will miss him. We would like to share this Irish Blessing with you in his memory:
