Tressa-Mae Shoji, 51, of Hilo, Hawaii, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Knowing Tressa, outspoken as she was, a simple about Me section is a challenging task. She filled many roles, as a mother, daughter, protector, and many other. Her great food and open arms are only a couple ways she would warm hearts. Tressa enjoyed her computer games second to her family and her passion for animals. She would give to anyone before they could ask. There are no words to describe the love and good feelings she gave to all, but we have all felt it. Tressa is survived by her parents; Father, Dennis and Liza Shoji and Mother, Piadora and LeAsi Mana; her Daughters, Malia Evalani Horne and Ivone and Andrew Gulleson; her Son, Ivan Roman; her grandchildren; Elijah Gulleson, Maikaleo Horne, Kaleo Gulleson and Baby Gulleson; her Sister, Denise and Ashley Silva, kids AJ, Dennis, Kaitlyn and Faith Silva; her Brother, Jason and Kristy Shoji, kids Evalani Shoji, Keonni and Joshua LaValley, kids Kamalei and Jace LaValley; her Sister, Nicole Shoji; her Brother; LeAsi and Shaneka Maiava, kids Courtney Lewis, Erica Lewis, and Sosefina Maiava; her Sister, Narcissa and Richard Belcher, kids Keonni LaValley, Jr. boy, Davilyn and Dessarae Castro; her Brother, Vinni and Hilda Sanchez. She is also survived by numerous Aunties and Uncles in Hawaii and her Hanai family. A Celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, February 9, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, Hope Mills.NC. Tressa my friend for life. We had many many great times in different ways in Italy. We never had an argument. I remember when my sister and I snuck out of the house to go to your house for a get together with our Italian friends .You told my sister and I to hide behind the bathroom door. When my father searched your house for us. Little did we know he could see us through the mirror. When we ran out of the house he grabbed us by our hair and took us all the way home. 🤣🤣😂😂 I have nothing but great memories with you. My heart breaks to know such an amazing good person gone too soon. You will never be forgotten. With love always and give my beautiful mother a hug for me.😘😘😘

Tressa is and will be missed by all those who knew her for her kind heart, sweet demeanor and that cool calm and collected attitude of hers. That smile, her giggle, and hand gestures accentuated her happy go lucky personality. That’s how I’ll always remember Tressa. Rest In Peace My Little Sister. Rest In Peace.

I send my deepest sympathy for ALL loved ones! I never got the pleasure of meeting her beautiful daughters, handsome son and grandson but I feel as though I have😘 I see her in all of you! I remember all the great times with her mother, father, sister, brother and all the “cool kids” in Italy! Her house was a safe happy place we could go without judgment💕 I remember looking at teen magazines in Tressa’s room swooning over Leif Garret 😂 that’s how old and young we were. Meeting up on Facebook with Tressa as an adult was a step back in time she is as she always was a kind beautiful sweet soul🌹She is a hero and was a beautifully outspoken advocate for animals and really any living being that has been abused or mistreated Tressa forever our champion RIP love you always Barbie 😘
