She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Kenneth Hawley; her parents, Theraldine Penny Parker and Troy Erkwood Parker; her brother, Jimmy Parker; her nephew, Michael Parker; her brothers-in-law, Preston Barbour and Buddy Brown; her sister-in-law, Sandra Parker; and a special grandmother and great-aunt who helped shape her life.
Vicky is survived by her loving daughters, Melissa Hawley and Sarah Clark; her grandson, Paul LeMay; her granddaughter, Christian Hughes; her grandson, Tristin Clark; and several cherished great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her brother, Billy Parker; her sisters, Bobbie Barbour, Brenda Brown, and Bonnie Johnson (Billy); her sister-in-law, Janet Parker; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will forever hold her in their hearts.
She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile—especially the radiant, beatific ones she shared as she departed this world to be with the Lord and reunited with her beloved family.
Vicky had a generous and giving spirit—she truly would give you the shirt off her back. With a keen sense of humor and quick wit, she was never shy about sharing her opinions with passion. Strong and determined, there was nothing she couldn’t accomplish once she set her mind to it.
Her heart was enormous—big enough to hold everyone she met. Her bright blue eyes had a way of truly seeing people, making each person feel valued, special, and loved. Yes, she could be stubborn at times and had a temper, but she was quick to forgive. She loved deeply, gave freely, and embodied kindness in action.
Vicky loved the outdoors—whether working in the yard, lounging by the pool, or especially surf fishing with her family. She also attended Stevens Chapel Church.
She deeply loved her entire family, a love she expressed often. Her daughter Sarah was by her side as she passed from this life. Vicky also cherished her many friends, including longtime special friends Sharon, Becky, and Kathy. In addition, she adored her pets—especially her faithful dogs, Angel and Bubba—who gave her years of companionship and joy.
Above all, Vicky loved Jesus, her Lord and Savior. In her later years especially, she lived her life in a way that reflected that deep and abiding love.
Her life was a gift, her memory a blessing, and her love will live on in all those who were fortunate to know her.
The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
A visitation for Vicky will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both in the chapel at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lee's Chapel–Williford Cemetery, 5651 US-421, Dunn, NC 28334.
