June 1, 1931 – March 23, 2020
Virginia R. Green passed away March 23, 2020 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was born on June 1, 1931 to the late Samuel and Florence Rantion, in Clarendon County, South Carolina. She attended public school while she was there. She joined the Laurel Hill A.M.E. Church until she moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1951; there she met and married Leroy Green. Virginia traveled several places with her husband who was In the military, and finally settled down in Fayetteville, N.C. She was a faithful member of Saint Paul Full Gospel Baptist Church until her health failed her; there she had many friends who she loved and shared her many talents with. She worked at the mess hall on Fort Bragg for 25 years and retired from that. She then decided to go back to work for McDonald's for 30 years, from which she also retired. Virginia was the life of the party and mercifully loved her family, was always there when needed, and was just happy to be a fun box for them. She loved basketball, and was a great player; she also loved good music and loved to dance. The most important thing was that she loved the Good Lord Jesus. Virginia leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Gregory (Brenda), and Frankie (Bertha), one grandson, Deaunta, a special grandson, Jacquarius, one sister, Mary Aldridge, a special sister, Barbara Jenkins and friend Janice Lee, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A LAST GOODBYE TO MY GRANMA Thank you for loving me; for shielding me when my mom got behind me; for always having my back no matter what, I'll forever miss you Granma. You was the best, now go on take your rest. Love, Deaunta.
GREGORY I love you Booe in every way a son could love his mom. I know I had been difficult at times but you love me through. Words cannot even explain this pain that's in my heart, but I know God will see me through. All I can say now is that the work you have done now speaks for you. I now say rest because you are now with the best.
