William Dean Matlock, 84, of Rockingham, NC passed away in his home on April, 5th, 2015. William was born August 6, 1930 to Keith and Sadie Fields Matlock in Greenwood Kansas. Mr. Matlock served in the United States Navy for 4 years active and 8 years reserve.
He was preceded in death by his four brothers, Eddie, Robert, Harley and Kenneth Matlock; two sisters Vina Wilson and Delma Tipkin; and one great granddaughter Jackie VanDyke.
His memories will be cherished by his wife of sixty years, June Matlock; three sons, Bill (Flo), Joe (Tina) and Richard Matlock (Rita); one daughter, Connie Boss (Mike); two sisters, Velma Stratton and Christine Kramer. He leaves eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday April 9th at Reeves Funeral Home in Hope mills.
Graveside services will held at 10:00 am April 10th at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Springlake NC.
