

On August 8, 2016, William Henry Privott peacefully left this earth at the age of eighty-four. William was born in Harrelsville, NC on July 22, 1932, to George Lester and Clara Manley Privott. William is preceded in death by his wife of twenty-nine years, Josephine Privott, his parents, eight siblings and four of his children, Oliver Jerome Privott, Henry Van Privott, Sandra Elaine Privott and Michael Anthony Privott.
As one of eleven children William lived with his family in North Carolina until joining the military where he proudly served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. William took great pride in his military service and noted that it had a significant impact on his life.
He returned to NC after the war to marry and start a family before moving to Middletown, CT with his family to work at Pratt& Whitney. He later moved back to NC and retired from Black & Decker in Hope Mills, NC where he resided for over thirty years. William was known to love his family dearly and looked forward to attending family functions and reunions.
Those left to mourn his passing include sons, Samuel Ray Privott and Malcom Privott of Middletown, CT and Scott Chasse of Raeford, NC; daughters, Joyce Theresa Privott of Middletown, CT, Brenda Privott and Jewel Privott of Knightdale, NC, Shyra Baxley of Parkton, NC and Victoria Privott of Wake Forest, NC. Also mourning his loss are his sisters, Josephine Valentine of Richmond, VA, Carolyn Fields of Queens, NY and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
