Aldon Verne Thompson, 91, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021.
He was born February 14, 1930 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to the late Chester Morton & Gertrude Alma (Davidson) Thompson, Sr. Aldon was a graduate of Hot Springs High School, class of 1948 and a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Mary Lee Wilson on December 22, 1951 in Berkeley, California and spent the next 70 years together. In 1959, he graduated from the University of Tulsa with a BSBA in marketing. He was a registered Illinois Real Estate Broker since 1973. Aldon was a member of Center Fork Baptist Church and Sam Mullins Sunday School Class. He enjoyed sponsoring youth sports and was a Rotary Club member in Illinois and Arkansas.
Aldon is survived by his wife Mary Lee and their children Karen Dzierzbicki and Greg Thompson; grandson, John Dzierzbicki; brother Morton Thompson, Jr. (D’Ann); and many special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Gross Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Scott Bates officiating.
