This is the snake plant that Anna gave me a tiny trimming of 20 years ago and which is now so big and bursting with life that I keep gifting others trimmings of. The gift that keeps on giving and growing! I think of her every time I water it 💚

I so wish that I could be with you all today in Louisiana to celebrate the extraordinary life of my Aunt Anna. I am grateful for the times we all got to spend together as a family and for the generosity I always felt from her. She had such a sharp intelligence and determination that shone through in her life in many ways. I always admired her pursuit of music and love of sharing it with community. I hold many memories dear from our time together, especially the visits I had with her and Chuck in Hot Springs on some of my trips across the States. I distinctly remember one visit where she proudly showed off a photo of her water buffalo which Lydia & Celia had gifted through donating to Heifer International. She believed in giving back to her community and also helping those in need of support around the world. After our grandmother Elizabeth passed we all gathered in the family home in Springfield to help clear out the house and relive the memories which dwelt there. Chuck and Anna had bought Elizabeth a Dodge Dynasty which they asked if any of us wanted. I had just moved to California and had no car so they generously fixed it up and I flew back later to pick up. On that trip I spent a few days with them in Hot Springs and got to know them and their lovely town a little more. Anna gifted me a small trimming from her snake plant for me to take back to California. I have kept that plant for these past 20 years and it is now big and bountiful and always reminds me of Anna and her kindness to me. I have continued to pass along trimmings of this plant to friends and it is such a beautiful representation of how Anna’s acts of kindness continue to generate more kindness which then gets passed along to others. I hope you are at peace and surrounded by love wherever your soul is now, Anna. Thank you for the precious memories which will continue far beyond the time you were here on earth. Big love to you Chuck, Lydia, & Celia and all of your circles of friends & family. 🌈💖

Mother made all our clothes, for herself and us.  She was an excellent seamstress.
Anna was a lovely person.  She will be missed.

Remembering Anna.  She was a great companion when we were kids.  We had many adventures and fun games with the neighborhood kids.

Anna was a great friend. Every week our little recorder group would get together to “ practice “ for our next exciting gig. A glass of wine often enhanced our self appreciation!  Most of all,  we had fun and always straightened out the world’s problems before beginning our sessions!

I'm so glad you chose a picture which captures Anna's beautiful smile, which lit up every room she entered.  It was such a joy to make music with her, both at St Luke's and with the Music Festival, and her tireless efforts on both fronts did much to enhance both communities.  Knowing Anna was an honor and a privilege and to her family, I hold you all in my heart at this sad time, hoping you find comfort in knowing she did much to make this world a better place, as do you all.  Peace be with you.

Anna's memory will forever be a blessing and an inspiration to everyone who made music and community with her. May her family and all of her many friends be comforted by memories of the joy she brought to her life.

It has been awhile since I had the pleasure of seeing you both.  Age retirement and life has separated us from all that.  I do remember the good times and I will remember Anna as she always had a smile on her face knowledge to share and a warm heart to put forth to mankind.
