Mrs. Barbara L. Harvey Swihart

Barbara L. Harvey Swihart, 65, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away Monday, August 25th, 2014. She was born April 25th, 1949 in Hot Springs to Cleveland and Mary Lou Dawson Melugin. Family meant everything to Barbara. She was a very loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many. She was known as a devoted Christian lady, having been a lifetime member of Oaklawn Church of God. As a believer in Jesus Christ, she is now a resident of Heaven! She worked for the Witness Production and Ed Hogaboom for several years, and worked for Leek Associates for the last few years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy L. Harvey; and two brothers, James and Kenneth Melugin. Cherishing her memory are her husband, Roger Swihart; two children, Kim Ward, and Chris Harvey (Debbie); step-children, Andra Otwell (Bob), and Shane Tatum (Teri); grandchildren, Micah Ward, Zachary Ward, Lauren Harvey, Emily Harvey, Brandon Otwell, Drake Tatum, Montana, Dallas, Gatlin ; two sisters, Louise Loy and Mildred Nease; many nieces, nephews; and a host of special friends that she loved dearly. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday August 29th, 2014 at her church, Oaklawn Church of God, with Rev. Steve Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday at Gross Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oaklawn Church of God.
