

Bettsy was born in Venezuela and lived there 5 years before moving to the United States. She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Holy Family High School. At Oklahoma State University she studied Hotel and Restaurant Management and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
Her careers in Tulsa included Catering Manager at the Camelot Inn, Residential Real Estate Agent for Detrick Realtors, and Social Director/Trainer of volunteers for the American Red Cross. For the past 12 years she was a property manager in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She lived in Costa Rica for two years where she played tour guide to family and friends. Bettsy was a creative gardener and an accomplished pianist who played piano for her schools’ glee clubs. A kind and caring person, she volunteered for various charitable organizations. She was a member of St Catherine’s Catholic Church in Tulsa.
Shannon York, Bettsy’s daughter, passed away in 2018.
Bettsy is survived by her sister Judy Koelbl, her brother-in-law Gary Koelbl, and her niece Alexis Dockery (Samuel) from Walnut Creek, CA.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Brookfield Memory Care and Elite Hospice for their loving care of Bettsy.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
