Billy James Cochran, 63, passed away abruptly on May 6, 2026, after a battle against illness and infection. He had a love and pride for his family that he shared every day.
He is survived by a large family, including his wife and best friend, Debra; his children, Kristin, Allison, and Colten; his daughter-in-law, Brooke, and grandchildren, Emma, Aubrey, and Axel.
Billy James Cochran was born on November 30th in Salina, Kansas, and he finished his journey in Belleville, Illinois. He began his working career in his grandfather’s and father's sanitation business. In this pursuit of his convictions, he joined the US Army and retired in 2003. He went on to get his Master’s Degree in Security Management and began working for the Department of Defense and the Federal Civil Service.
Billy always believed that it was never too late to make progress and find a new purpose. He believed in working hard, just keeping learning, fighting hard, winning hard, and being heard. The grief we hold for him is all of the love we won't have the chance to share.
