BJ dedicated his professional life to caring for others as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), graduating from Arkansas State University. His compassion extended far beyond his profession, as he was a faithful member and leader of New Life Church. BJ loved the Lord fiercely and lived with a burning desire to share the Gospel. Rarely did he have a conversation that did not reflect his deep faith in Jesus Christ and his mission to reach others. He is now a proud resident of Heaven!
His ministry took him around the world, where he delivered the message of hope and salvation in multiple different languages. Most recently, his work led him to Costa Rica, continuing his calling to serve and uplift others through faith.
BJ was immensely proud of his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Sonya, and his cherished children, Trey and Aylor Easterling, who were the center of his world.
Outside of his calling and career, BJ embraced life fully. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Memphis Grizzlies, and he enjoyed attending car shows whenever he had the opportunity. He was also well known for his unique sense of style—especially his love for Jordan sneakers, proudly owning a collection of more than 250 pairs. BJ lived life on his own terms, bringing energy, joy, and authenticity wherever he went. He was often the loudest in the room and undeniably the life of the party, yet beneath that vibrant personality was a deeply caring and generous heart.
A celebration of BJ’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Crossgate Church.
Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery. In honor of BJ’s vibrant personality and signature style, guests are encouraged to wear bright colors and/or their favorite sneakers.
BJ’s impact on those who knew him will never be forgotten. His faith, his voice, and his love for people will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
