Carl Chapman

Carl Ray Chapman, 70, of Royal, Arkansas passed away Monday, August 19th, 2024. He was born November 14, 1953 in Hot Springs. He is predeceased in death by his Father, Lyle O. Chapman and his Mother, Lucy Mann Garcia & her husband, Jake Garcia, as well as an infant son.

Carl was an avid car enthusiast. He loved to work on & rebuild old cars. He was especially fond of 1955 Chevy Bel-Airs. He enjoyed drag racing & getting his Big Red Truck stuck in the mud in his younger years. Carl loved horses and throughout his lifetime he held several positions in the thoroughbred horse racing business.

Cherishing his memory are his wife of nearly fifty years, Dolores Chapman; four siblings, Steve Faulkner (Gina), Martha Gordon (Jim), Andy Garcia (Christina), and Julie Williams (Joey); several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers are, Jim Gordon, Michael Gordon, Christopher Gordon, Joey Williams, Michael Efird, and Steven Thurman.

Honorary pallbearers are the Lake Hamilton Equine Association/ Dr. Jessie and Joan Clement, Pleasant Hill Farm & Staff, and the nurses and staff of CHI St. Vincent-Hot Springs.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 2:00- 4:00 PM in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Monday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Teddy Frye officiating.
