

Carol Sorrells, affectionately known to all as “Shorty,” left this world on August 17, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering devotion. Carol was a beacon of warmth and kindness, embodying the true spirit of a servant with a heart that touched everyone she met.
A proud graduate of Fountain Lake High School, Carol devoted her life to nurturing and caring for those around her. Her deep faith was reflected in her tireless volunteer work at Walnut Valley Baptist Church, where she served with a genuine love for the community. Carol had a particular fondness for The Potter's Clay ministry, where her compassionate spirit shone brightly. Her contributions extended beyond the church to the local school and youth group, always with a smile and a helping hand.
Carol's remarkable talent for bringing people together was never more evident than during the holidays. She was the heart of her family gatherings, where her culinary skills created unforgettable meals, and her joy was found in sharing those moments with loved ones. Her passion for jigsaw puzzles was legendary; she could complete them in record time, showcasing her sharp mind and patient heart.
As a mother and grandmother, Carol was unparalleled. Her home was a sanctuary where nobody wanted for anything, a testament to her selflessness and deep love.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Zelner and Lillian Lawler, her sister Ann Burgess, and her brother Paul Grisham.
She is survived by her husband Larry Sorrells, her son Randy Sorrells and his wife Holly, her brother Terry Grisham and his wife Jeanne, her in-laws Tim Sorrells and Deb Pittman, niece Terri Lyn Teare, and her cherished grandchildren Kayla (Clay), Cody (Shelby), Tyler, Sheena, Cody, Devin, Raymond, along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews—They were her greatest joys.
Her absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt, but her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A memorial graveside service will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hot Springs, AR, on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
In her passing, we remember Carol not just for the extraordinary service she provided, but for the boundless love and joy she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of kindness will live on in our hearts forever.
