Carole Ann Thompson

Carole Ann Thompson, 85, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 6, 1940.

Carole was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Debra Ann Thompson (“Debbie”).

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Jerry Dean Thompson; her loving son, Greg Dean Thompson; her daughter-in-law, Faye Thompson; her cherished grandchildren, Julian Thompson (JJ), Nicki Thompson, Tanner Thompson, Ethan Thompson, and Margaret “Maisie” Thompson; her beloved great-grandchildren, Journey Thompson, Atlas Thompson, Willow Thompson, Lilly Thompson, Olyver Thompson, and Star Kimmel; her siblings, Linda Gaeta, Candice Hamburg, and Curtis Sommerville; as well as many extended family members, lifelong friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing her.

Carole met the love of her life, Jerry, while they were students at San José State University in California. Their meeting began a beautiful love story that blossomed into 64 wonderful years of marriage, built on love, faith, unwavering devotion, and a deep commitment to family. After retiring, they made their home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, where they enjoyed a life filled with cherished friendships, joyful gatherings, and precious moments with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A devoted Catholic, Carole lived her faith through service and was a dedicated member of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart. She also enjoyed her time spent with Altrusa and all of the friends she made supporting the organization. Her faith, kindness, and compassion were reflected in the way she cared for others throughout her life.

Carole embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. She loved playing tennis and golf, enjoyed taking boxing classes, and found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every opportunity to be with them.

Those who knew Carole will always remember her for her generous heart, gentle spirit, and joyful personality. Her dear friend of 45 years, Sue, described her best:

“She was kind, always offering help or advice whenever it was needed. She was deeply caring and so much fun to be around.”

Carole’s legacy is one of unconditional love, compassion, generosity, and unwavering faith. She touched countless lives through her kindness, wisdom, and willingness to help others. While she will be deeply missed, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.
