Charles E Garner

Charles Edward Garner born February 12, 1931, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on July 7, 2014, at age 83. The last days of his life were filled with faith, hope, laughter, and love as he was surrounded by family and friends.

He is predeceased by his father and mother, Albert Garner and Jessie Jane Westerman Garner; wife, Ruth Garner; brother, Robert “Bob” Garner; eldest son, Paul Edward Garner.

He is survived by his family: son, Stephen Charles Garner and wife Linda; daughter, Jan Garner Saunders and husband, Jeff; sister, Anna Lou Smith (Leo) and brother, Doyle Garner (Mary Jo). Grandchildren: Lynde Parks (Wes); Paul Garner, II; Steve Garner, Jr (Robin); Shawna Thrasher; Shane Garner (Mesheyl); Brittany Saunders. Eighteen great-grandchildren. Step-sons: Stanley Carpenter and David Carpenter. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, from 5:00-7:00 PM; Celebration of Life will be Thursday, July 10, at 1:00 PM, both at Gross Funeral Home. Interment will be at Ozark Lithia Cemetery on Highway 7 North. Pallbearers are Donald Burrough, Jeff Saunders, Steve Garner, Jr, Shane Garner, Rick Davis, Mike Gregor. Dinner will follow for all family and friends at The Branch (at Snow Springs) 3564 Park Avenue.

Youth is not entriely a time of life-it is a state of mind. It is not wholly a matter of ripe cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It is a temper of will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions.
