Delores (Dee) Kay Dunn of Hot Springs, AR, formally of Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Huntington, WV. She passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024 at the age of 79.
Delores was born on June 5, 1944 to Fred and Helen Hayes. Preceded in death by mother and father. Sisters Arlene, Camily, Elaine, and brother Freddy.
Survived by sisters; Bobbi, Freda, Kelly, brother; Kem, and life-long best friend, Karen Blackburn. She graduated from Mifflin High School in Columbus, Ohio in 1963.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and aunt. She had two children, James (Stormie) and Angela (Charles). She also had four grandchildren; Brittany (Jason), Jeremy, Michael (Sophie), and Kaden. She also had five great-grandchildren; Leah, Alexis, Jordon, Kylee, and Anthony.
Delores worked for the state of Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Division for twelve years. After retirement, she worked for Columbus Public Schools as the primary cook for the kid’s breakfast and lunches. She had a profound love for cooking. Her best recipes were her homemade lasagna, and her chicken noodle casserole.
She loved watching birds all day long, and her favorite TV show was Little House on the Prairie. Her favorite hobby was to play Euchre with family in Ohio.
Delores will be deeply missed, but never forgotten by her family, friends, and colleges who were touched by her outrageous sense of humor along with her unwavering love for her family. She was a very loving, kind, and a generous helping hand.
She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday April 5, 2024 from 4pm-6pm, in the Chapel, at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs, AR.
