Donald “Donnie” Wrublesky of Hot Springs left this world much too soon on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, leaving a forever void in the lives of all who knew him. How does one summarize a man that meant so much to so many? To know Donnie was to love him, and while his tall stature and commanding presence were perhaps intimidating, it took only moments for his gentle spirit, loving heart, playful nature, and endless care for others to be revealed and draw people in.
Donnie was born on October 26, 1977, in Atlanta, GA, to Bob and Bonnie Wrublesky. Growing up in Hot Springs, his childhood was full of sports and outdoors. He attended Lakeside High School, and had a long career as a member of the Turner family insurance business.
On May 12, 2001, Donnie married his high school sweetheart and soulmate, Amy Turner. Together, they raised two sons, Caleb (21) and Luke (17). While Donnie had many passions in life, none compared to his love and dedication to his family. He loved them fiercely in a way that cannot be overstated.
Donnie was someone to everyone…a dedicated husband, an invested father, a loving son, a protective brother, the MOST fun uncle (just ask his 17 nieces and nephews), a loyal friend, a trustworthy confidant, a concerned ear to listen, and the best bear hug giver. The legacy Donnie leaves behind is the profound impact he had on all who were privileged to know him. He is now undoubtedly embracing his daughter, Katie, in his arms, waiting patiently until he is reunited with his loved ones.
Donnie is preceded in death by his daughter, Katie. He is survived by his wife, Amy, and two sons, Caleb and Luke, parents Bob and Bonnie Wrublesky, sisters Jenny Alkabbany (Emad) and Meg Powers (Josh), as well as his large, extended family of beloved in-laws and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, 5-7pm, at Gross Funeral Home.
Please join all who loved Donnie at the Celebration of Life on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 2pm at New Life Church.
In lieu of flowers, please contact Citizens Bank on Malvern Avenue to make a donation to the Donnie Wrublesky Football Scholarship.
