It is with deep sorrow and abiding love that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Eunice Myrlene Carroll, who went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Wednesday, October 22st at the age of 89. She lived a life marked by kindness and love. She touched those around her with her gentle spirit, generous heart, and mischievous sense of humor.
Born on September 24th, 1936 in Nowata, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Horace Grady Farnell and Mearl Mollie (Lawson) Farnell. She was retired from ElDorado Chemical and had worked many years for Cross Oil in Smackover, AR. When a member of West Side Baptist Church in ElDorado, AR, Myrlene worked in the media library and nursery. Later on, as a member of Assembly of God in Hot Springs Village, she served in the nursery and other volunteer capacities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lottie Welch, and her 3 brothers, Norman, E.J., and Jack.
She was a loving wife to Richard E. Carroll, a nurturing mother to Aprile Garner and the late Bob Garner, Jeff and Junko McGee, Matt and Beth McGee, and a caring step-mother to Stephen and Shannon Carroll, Michael and Janet Carroll, Matthew and Clyla Carroll, and Susan and Joey Jones. She was a cherished grandmother to 13, great grandmother to 11 and great-great grandmother to 1.
Myrlene found joy in quilting, sewing, painting, singing, and spending time with family and friends. She lived her faith in Jesus with quiet strength and dignity.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and take comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Caring Place in Hot Springs, Arkansas in appreciation for their wonderful service to our sweet mother.
Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all who knew her. We will miss her deeply, but we give thanks for the gift of her life and the blessing of her memory.
