He was born May 8, 1947 in Conway, AR, to the late Raymond and Hilda Bruich Nahlen. He was a 1965 graduate of St Joseph High in Conway, AR, a graduate from the University of Central Arkansas and Christian Brothers University with a Master’s in Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude. He retired in 2011 after over 40 years with The Kroger Company afterward concentrating his time and energy on his volunteer efforts with the Missionaries of Charity in both Memphis and Little Rock as well as the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. He was also a lifelong member of the Knight’s of Columbus as a 4th Degree Knight and Past Grand Knight of his Council in TN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Cooper Nahlen of Fort Smith, AR and parents, Raymond Nahlen and Hilda Bruich Nahlen of Conway, AR.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Romagnano-Nahlen of Hot Springs Village, AR; his sisters, Martha Nahlen of North Little Rock, and Carol Hambuchen and husband Mike of Conway; four sons, Raymond Nahlen and wife Stacy of Indianapolis, IN, David Nahlen of Germantown, TN, David Brohamer of Temecula, CA, Christopher Brohamer and wife Anita of Chesapeake, VA; and further extended family.
Arrangements are: Rosary followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Hot Springs Village, AR at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 11, 2023 immediately followed by a reception downstairs.
There will also be a Rosary and service at St Ann Catholic Church in Bartlett, TN on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 11:00 am followed by internment at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Bartlett, TN.
