George Anthony Fields was born on September 18, 1953 in Hot Springs to parents Nina Lee
Tague and George LeeRoy Fields. He passed away January 2nd, 2023 at the age of 70 surrounded
by his loved ones.
He was a hardworking welder until he retired. He owned Custom Iron Works, built many boat
docks, fabricated the iron railing on many hotels, parking lots, and residences around the state,
but especially in the Hot Springs area. He was an honorary girl scout and was awarded the Green
Knight award during his time spent with his daughter and girl scout troop. He was a kind and
caring man who opened his home to many over the years, if you needed a place to stay his house
was open. This changed over the years from people to even animals, especially his raccoons
(Arlo and Willow). While his love for raccoons was great, his love for his children was his
greatest joy. He was a loving, proud, and incredible father who will be truly missed.
George is preceded in death by his parents, aunt Florence Loy, sister Irena Mae Fields, brother
Charles Fields (Dorothy), sister-in-law Amy Fields, son(s) Shawn Fields and Richard Hadley,
stepdaughter Cindy Rucker, nephew Joe Barentine, and niece(s) Christy Huff and Kelly
Spradling.
George is survived by his sons Jon Smoke and Russell Fields (Jennifer Fields), daughters Brandy
Fields and Cherokee Fields, brothers Lee Fields and Roy Fields (Cindy Fields), sister Maria
Milam, uncle Rick Fields, and aunt Wanda Stevens.
George was a proud grandfather to Austin Fields, Ryan Fields, Sierra Hopper (Corey), Dakota
Parks (Josie), Savannah Alderman, Alejandro Lopez, Jr Lopez, Antonio Lopez, Caesyn
Youngman and 6 great-grandchildren.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
A Time for Everything
31 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: 2 a
time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill
and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time
to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.
