

After graduating from Malvern High in 1947, Harry joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served until 1950. In 1953, he began serving in the U.S. Air Force as an Intelligence Staff Sergeant in Hokkaido, Japan during the Korean War. Because of his high security clearance, he helped in the planning of Cape Canaveral upon his return stateside.
Ordained as a Baptist Minister in 1960, Harry shared his love of the Lord for 56 years most recently as pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Sunshine. He knew his calling from a young age graduating from OBU in 1950 with a Bachelors of Arts in Religion. In 1966, he finished his Masters degree and the following year received a Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Seminary. As a member of the Ministerial Alliance organization, Harry strived to meet the spiritual needs of both his congregation and his community. Hot Springs became home when in 1968 Harry became the Home Missionary for the Southern Baptist Convention for the area. His deep love of Christ and strong sense of community moved him to help start the Eleanor Klugh Jackson House for Crisis Intervention, Laubach Literacy, and Community Counseling. He also served on the board of Potters Clay for many years. His community service was recognized with many awards acknowledging his community kindness including the Man of the Year and Service to Humanity Award.
