
Herbert Koudelka, 85, of Hot Springs, AR, passed away on April 2, 2026. Born on October 18, 1940, in Baytown, Texas, to the late Jimmie and Emily Koudelka. Herbert’s life was marked by a passion for exploration, community, and service.
Herbert attended Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Houston. His professional life was dedicated to caring for others as a registered pharmacist, working with Duggan Drugs in Houston, TX, St. Joseph's Medical Center, and Kroger Pharmacy in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
A man of diverse interests, Herbert found joy in light aircraft flying, exploring historical sites, and engaging with his Porsche Club friends. His fascination with astronomy, fishing, and boating brought him peace and excitement alike. He was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hot Springs, where he also contributed his talents to the church choir.
Herbert’s family fondly remembers their travels across Europe, Mexico, Asia, and especially their cherished journeys to the Philippines. These adventures exemplified his love for discovering new places and cultures, creating memories that will forever be treasured.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, curiosity, and a zest for life. Herbert’s warmth and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Herbert is preceded in death by his parents Emily Wilma Franta Koudelka and Jimmie Joseph Koudelka.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Trebajo Koudelka; daughters Audrey Elaine Isaacson and Genevieve Rose Townley; sister Laura Louise Beckham; grandchildren Brody Vincent Townley and Brenna Elizabeth Townley; along with many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Rosary will be held at Gross Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 4:00pm with a Visitation to follow from 4:30pm-6:00pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hot Springs from 9:00am – 10:00am where friends and family are invited to celebrate his life. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Mena, AR.
