He was born July 19, 1926 in Hot Springs to the late Corney & Lola Mae (Catlett) LaFont. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired carpenter.
Jack is preceded in death by a son Robert LaFont; daughter Sherry LaFont; and sister Estelle Thomas.
Survivors include his children, Mary Ann Mallette (Larry), Debbie Thornton (John) and Chris LaFont (Jen); daughter-in-law Ellen LaFont; 15 grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Pallbearers are his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Garrett Wood Assisted Living and Dr. Seth Barnes.
Graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday at Morning Star Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Hill officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Food Pantry at Oaklawn Baptist Church.
