On October 2, 2026 Jackie Berry departed this world to be at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Next to the Lord, he loved his wife and family with an undying, sacrificial love. He loved the church and her ministers, giving generously of his time and resources for the unity of the church and the advance of the gospel. Jack was a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church and served many years as a Sunday School teacher and deacon at Grand Avenue Baptist and Piney Baptist.
Jackie worked thirty-five years as a machinist for Arkansas Power & Light at the Jones Mill power plant and was a life-long cattle rancher. He always felt blessed to be able to make a living doing the two things he loved most to do. He worked hard and diligently to provide for the needs of his family and to have something to share with others. He never ceased to be amazed at the grace of God that made him what he was and provided all he had. Gratitude was a constant for him, and he acknowledged and expressed his thankfulness often to his Lord, family, and friends.
Jackie is preceded in death by his parents, Fonnie and Ruby Berry; his beloved wife, Betty Jo Lingo Berry; and his sister, Juanita Berry.
He is survived by his siblings, Wanda Bailey and Mike Berry; his children, Joseph Taun Berry, Mark Alan Berry (Julie), and Tim Berry (Danna); and his nine grandchildren, Chad Berry, Jack Berry, Vann Berry, Chris Berry, Katie Powell, Jessica Miller, Zoe Sheppard, Piper Berry, and Madeline Berry. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren, who brought great joy and love to his life.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hot Springs Baptist Church and the International Mission Board.
