On July 12, 2018, Jackie C. Wacaster, Sr. died in the early morning hours. He was born November 14, 1932 to Clyde and Inez Wacaster in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
He was a Navy veteran who served on the aircraft carrier, Intrepid, as an aviation ordinance man. He had many sea stories about his Navy service. While attending a service school in Oklahoma City, he met the great love of his life, Jewel Mullen, whom he married after a whirlwind courtship. Jewel and Jack married on July 12, 1952. They were married for 60 years until Jewel passed away in 2012. They had three children: Jackie Clyde, Cheryl Denise and Scott Edward. He was a sign painter until he retired. He was a devout Baptist. He labored long and hard for his family and was an excellent father.
He is survived by his three children: Jack Wacaster, Jr. (Karen), Cheryl Morris (Doyle) and Scott Wacaster; grandchildren Grant and Tayler Scott and great grandchildren Lakyn, Allison, Lane, Zachary and Jackson Scott.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday at Crestview Memorial Park.
