Elder James E. Winston, 89 of Hot Springs passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the comfort of his home that he shared with his late wife, Aleta, of 71 years. He was born November 25,1934 in Sheridan, Arkansas, to the late Frank & Daisy Winston and as a believer in Jesus Christ is now a resident of Heaven!
James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all that knew him. He was sure to give God the glory in every situation. He was a long time, devoted servant of our Savior Jesus Christ.
He was the former pastor of Fuller Chapel Primitive Baptist Church of North Little Rock for over 40 years.
James was a servant of the Lord, always quick to give glory to God for the blessings in his life. James worked as a carpenter. He also enjoyed working in his garden, tending to his bees and crafting unique necklaces from rocks he collected on his travels.
James is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Daisy Winston; wife, Aleta Winston; brother, Frank (Pat) Winston; and sisters, Marjorie Johnston (Joe) and Jackie Fortner. Sister-in-law, KK Milholen.
He is survived by his brother in laws; Howard Fortner, Rick (Sandy) Milholen, and Jim Milholen, his children; Eldon (Ann) Winston of Tolar, Texas, Tim (Laura) Winston of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Annette (Benny) Walters of Hot Springs, Arkansas, 10 grandkids and 16 great grandkids.
Visitation will be held at Gross Funeral Home on Thursday 7th, 2024 from 5pm-7pm. A memorial service will be held on Friday 8th, 2024 at 10am followed by a graveside service at Peak Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be; Grant Winston, Garrett Winston, Gage Winston, Curtis Winston, Duke Deen, Cameron Winston, Joshua Wright, Jason Walters, and Aaron Haynes.
