She was born in Boise, Idaho to the late John Chapman and Doris Squires.
She joins in Heaven – Her beloved husband, best friend and love of her life of 35 years, Barry L Carter. Her parents - Doris and Jack Squires, Arthur Denison.
Jean Carter moved to Hot Springs to be close to family raising her two young children. She worked at Stuearts Landing Grocery with her parents and brother until Jack and Doris Squires retired. She was employed with Resort Cable as a customer service representative and a dispatcher until she retired with 20 years of service. During the earlier years of Quapaw Vo-Tech, she became an EMT instructor and trained several of the staff of the ambulance service of Hot Springs. She had medical background from her earlier years in Boulder City, NV. She became a member of Grand Avenue Methodist Church and was involved in the Prayer Shawl Ministries and helped with projects for the Table of Grace.
Survivors include – Daughter Mary Morton Bryant (Dan) and their children and grand children (Las Vegas), Daughter – Kimberly Kirschman (Steven) – Jacob Kirschman & Jenny Kirschman – Son – Walter Gilliam (Diana) – Corey Martin (Brady) – Great Granddaughter – Lila Payton Martin – Benjamin Wright – Joshua Gilliam – Brother – Everett Denison ( Nephew) Andrew Denison and Matthew Denison – Sister – Vicki Cramer (Jimmie).
A memorial service will be held 2 pm Wednesday April 5, 2023, at Grand Avenue Methodist Church with Pastor David Fleming officiating.
The family wishes to extend our deepest heart felt gratitude to all the staff of the House Call Nurses, Gentiva Hospice, the doctors, and nursing/support staff of CHI St. Vincent’s Hospital, and Arkansas Hospice for the care and love that they showed my mother.
