Jo Ann “Jodi” Alexander, 89, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021. Jo was born August 29, 1932 to John Taylor and Beatrice Julia Gann. Retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co., Jo spent 25 years as a seamstress and also worked at Dixie Cup.
She met her late husband, Willard James Alexander Sr., at Fort Chaffee just outside her hometown of Fort Smith, Arkansas. They married on May 11, 1956 and spent the next 56 years of life traveling, growing their family, and loving each other.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Willard James Alexander Sr., and her son, Willard James “Jimmy” Alexander Jr. She is survived by her sister Dena Stewart of Bella Vista, AR; three daughters, Julie Brumley and her husband Terry, of Olive Branch, MS; Janine Alexander of Nashville, TN; and Joyce Alexander Bach and her husband Curtis, of Hot Springs, AR; step daughter, Suzanne Makowski; nine grandchildren, Alexander, Elijah, and Alicia Brumley; Amanda Alexander, Chase and Autumn Bilyeu, Melissa, Paul, and Ronnie Makowski; and several wonderful great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dierksen Hospice, Community First Trust, Greenwood Manor, and Mt. Carmel.
Funeral services will be held at Edwards Funeral Home chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10 am.
