

Joel voluntarily joined the Marine Corps and served two combat tours in Vietnam. Over his 20 year career he earned the rank of First Sergeant along with numerous metals.
Joel was a master scuba diver, drag car racing fan, and Harley Davison motorcycle enthusiast. He was in the process of restoring his 56 Chevy, which he was very proud of.
He leaves behind a wife, siblings, daughters, in-laws, son-in-laws, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, step- sons and wives and step grandchildren, and numerous other relatives, including nephews and nieces with husbands and families.
Joel was a true hard-core Marine that loved our country and lived the motto God, family and country. He was a committed member of Combat Veteran’s Motorcycle Association.
He served as XO in Tennessee chapter 18-4 and then transferred to Arkansas chapter 7-4. Where he served honorably with his brothers and sisters in arms, and many friends.
He was also a member of the Patriot Guard and attended many services, honoring our service members. He was a member of the Hot Springs Village classic car group and make many friends at “gasoline alley” in Hot Springs Village.
Joel possessed a giving heart if he met you he was an instant friend and would do anything he could for you. He loved a cold beer with friends and family, so raise a glass and give a toast to life well lived in a man well loved.

There will be a memorial service held at Gross Funeral Home on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 2pm.
