

She was predeceased by her parents William Lewis Summerville and Elvera Lou Summerville, her husband Andre Wesley and Herbert Whitaker, Sr., the father of her children.
She is survived by her children Aundrea Whitaker Crary (Chris), and Rodney Whitaker. Her grandchildren Aubri Whitaker, Tyler Whitaker (Justine), Shontaria Whitaker and Stephanie Crary Long (Anthony). Great grandchildren Sydney Ellis and Marcelus Whitaker.
Additional mourners are her nine siblings Bill Allen, Alfred Summerville, Peggy Summerville, Charlotte Dorhan, Zoereta Fitzpatrick, Travis Summerville, Annetta Summerville Gilbert (Lewis), Janice Anderson and Jackie Roberson plus a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Judy was a former employee of the DeSoto Hotel, the Majestic Hotel and finished her employment career at CHI St. Vincent at retirement in 2016. She also worked at a local CSO Foster Grandparent program until 2019.
She worshipped faithfully at Union Missionary Baptist Church and her servants heart led her to be involved in many different ministries of the church with her favorites being titled a Deaconess and later a Mother of the Church. Her church family was as big a part of her family as her blood relatives.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with family, dining out, fishing, playing bingo, helping on the Senior Center days and various church activities.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 15th at Gross Funeral home Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Services will be Friday, January 16th at Union Baptist Missionary Church at 11:00am. Interment will be at Mountain Pine Community Cemetery in Mountain Pine, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the building fund of Union Baptist Missionary Church in Judy’s memory. Final arrangements are entrusted to Gross Funeral Home, 120 Wrights Street, Hot Springs, AR 71913.
