Karen Kellar

Karen Sue Kellar, lovingly known as “KK” and “Nana,” passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, at the age of 62, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Karen was born on April 8, 1964, in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany, to Donald and Sieglinde Cross. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents.

Karen was the devoted wife of Bruce Kellar and a loving mother to Dustin Kellar, daughter-in-law Amanda Kellar, and Stefan Kellar. She also had a special place in her heart for her adopted son, Jack Tran.

But one of Karen's greatest joys was being Nana. Her granddaughters, Tensley and Audrey, were her angels. She loved them fiercely and treasured every moment she had with them. They brought a special kind of happiness to her life, and the love she had for them will continue through the memories they carry with them.

Karen was a Nana not only to her own granddaughters, but to every cousin, friend, and child who crossed her path. She never came empty-handed and could always be counted on to have a treat for all of her “babies.” She had a special way of making every child feel loved, spoiled, and completely at home in her heart.

Karen is also survived by her siblings, Roger (Lisa), Robert, Diana, and Jeff, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Karen was, without a doubt, the life of the party. She never met a stranger. Everywhere she went, she had a way of striking up a conversation, making people laugh, and leaving with a new friend. Her warm personality, infectious spirit, and genuine love for people made her someone who was impossible to forget.

Some of her happiest moments were spent with the people she loved most. She treasured days with her girls, making memories and enjoying their time together. She also loved a good casino date with Jack.

Karen leaves behind a family who will miss her more than words can express. Her laughter, her stories, her ability to make everyone feel like an old friend, and her unmistakable presence will forever be part of the memories shared by those who loved her.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort knowing that Karen is no longer suffering and has been welcomed home into the arms of Jesus. During her final days, a butterfly found its way into her ICU room and stayed with her. To her family, it will forever be a beautiful reminder that she was not alone and that her spirit was ready to take flight.

Karen was deeply loved, fiercely cherished, and truly unforgettable. She may have left this world, but the love and laughter she gave to so many will live on forever.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18,2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Gross Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow the next day at Oak Grove Cemetery in Sunshine, AR to begin at 9:00am. Guests may register at www.GrossFuneralHome.com.
