October 1, 1946 – June 6, 2021
Kenneth L. Harmon, 74, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at his home after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Harmon and Frances Turner, and his loving in-laws, Walter B. and Virginia Wright.
He is survived by his soulmate and wife, Marinel (Nelie) Harmon; daughter, Shelie Harmon-Chavez and her husband, James Chavez of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, Michael Harmon and Emily Young of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandchildren Marissa Moulton-Harmon of Cedar Park, Texas, Tyler and Tessa Harmon of Derby, Kansas, Aidan Chavez of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Brooklyn Chavez of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters Patricia Burks and her husband, Ben Burks, Jeanette Hill and Gary Hill; brother Sandy Blanton and his wife, Suzanne Blanton; brothers in-law Walter and his wife, Randi Wright and Ralph Wright; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Ken was born October 1, 1946 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. After graduating from Lakeside High School, he attended Henderson State University, before enlisting in the Air Force. He spent the majority of his working career in auto sales; working for Resort Ford and Allen Tillery Chevrolet.
Ken was a member of Leonard Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses, camping, boating, and riding motorcycles. Everyone knew Ken as a kind, hard-working family man. He always had a word of advice, a story to tell and more than likely, a corny joke. He could build or fix anything and would help anyone with whatever they needed.
Ken will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Gross Funeral Home. We would like to acknowledge Robynn Sheets from Gross Funeral Home for her overwhelming compassion and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Leonard Street Baptist Church, 625 Leonard Street, Hot Springs, Arkansas, 71913.
