Larry liked to say he was given three hearts. The one he was born with; the one God gave him when he was saved; and the one he received from a heart transplant almost eight years ago. Special thanks to the team at Baptist Health Transplant Institute, Dr. Hutchins, Dr. Ransom, Stephanie Thomson, and all the nurses that have cared for him over the years.
Larry’s health problems didn’t stop him from leading a long and accomplished life. He was founder and owner of his family business, Larry’s Body Shop, for the past 34 years. He was a member of Grace Apostolic Church where he served as President of the Board of Trustees.
Larry had a passion for cars, fishing, and lake life. He enjoyed house boating with family and friends on Lake Ouachita.
Larry is predeceased by his mother and father, Roger Sr. and Avynell Patterson Burton
He is survived by Peggy Burton, his loving wife of 53 years; his brother Roger Burton (Sharon); his sister Dianne Cooper; his sons, Phillip Burton and daughter in law Glenda and Russell Burton and daughter in law Cathie; his grandchildren Brittany and Damon Weldon, Jonathan and Felicia Burton, Kelsey and Clark Smalling, Ryan and Angela Burton, Andrew and Susan Lorigan, Cole Lorigan, Ashley and Brian Bridges; and his twelve great grandchildren.
