

Larry Sorrells, a beloved husband, devoted father, and esteemed community servant, passed away on August 21, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and impact. Larry, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, was known for his charismatic personality and his unwavering commitment to both his family and his community.
Larry was deeply devoted to his wife, Carol, whom he gave every ounce of himself to, loving and meeting her every need. Their bond was a testament to a true partnership built on love and respect. He cherished every moment spent with Carol and his family, consistently putting them at the center of his life.
A man of faith and service, Larry was a dedicated Deacon and Sunday school teacher at Walnut Valley Baptist Church. His leadership extended beyond the church walls as he passionately led a men’s ministry and embarked on several mission trips, spreading his message of faith and hope. His commitment to serving others was also evident in his role as a School Board member at Fountain Lake, where he contributed his time and energy to the betterment of local education.
Larry's professional life was marked by his fervent dedication to his work as a MAC Truck salesman. Known for his exceptional skill and enthusiasm, Larry earned numerous awards throughout his career and was famously known as the man who could “sell ice to an Eskimo.” His colleagues and clients admired his work ethic and his ability to connect with people.
Outside of work, Larry was an avid hunter, spending countless hours in the woods pursuing and harvesting trophy bucks. He found joy in "fiddle-farting around" in his shop and tending to his yard, hobbies that brought him great satisfaction. Larry was also known for his unique fondness for Hostess Baby Bundt Cakes—particularly the lemon variety, which he defended with fervor.
Larry's legacy is one of deep love for his family, unyielding dedication to his community, and a vibrant passion for life. He leaves behind a world that is better for having known him and a family that will forever cherish his memory.
Larry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol, and his parents, Hubert and Callie Sorrells.
Larry is survived by his son, Randy (Holly), his brother, Tim Sorrells, his sister, Deb Pittman, and his brother-in-law Terry Grisham (Jeanne). His niece, Angela Miles and Terri Teare and his nephews, Mike Jones, Sean and Adam Pittman. His grandchildren, Kayla (Clay), Cody (Shelby), Tyler, Sheena (Drew), Cody, Devin Raymond and many more great grands, nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Larry Sorrells will be profoundly missed by his family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a shining example of service, love, and joy, and his memory will continue to inspire those he touched.
