July 14, 1934 – November 7, 2018
Mae Garner, 84, of Hot Springs passed peacefully November 7, 2018.
A gardener to the last, many believed Mae grew the best tomatoes. However, Mae was most known for her cornbread dressing, a recipe she freely gave out, but no one could duplicate. Family and friends are convinced the secret is the pan- she made dressing in the same pan for over fifty years! Old movies were a favorite of Mae’s. Her children remember parking outside of the drive-in, able to see, but not hear the movie, yet enjoying the movie just the same. A collection of VHS tapes, including lots of Disney movies, was a favorite of her grandkids.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wilmer Garner.
Mae will be remembered by her children Phil Garner, Robert Garner (Shelli), Roger Garner (Sheena), Beverly Foster (Dale), Sharon Powell (Jerry), and Jimmy Garner (Annette); her fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren (with one on the way).
Whether they were lucky enough to get cheese on their crackers or had to make do with ketchup, Mae’s family knew how very much she loved them.
The family would like to thank the staff of Arkansas Hospice and Dr. Cartaya for the comfort and care they provided, as well as, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church for the comfort and care they continue to provide.
Per Mae's request, there will not be a service.
No services are scheduled at this time. Receive a notification when services are updated.

So many memories! She was always there for everyone. No matter what, you could always count on her. We will miss her greatly.

I will miss going to do Walmart shopping with her for one thing. Then afterwards we would usually go to Mcdonald's for her Mc-chicken Sandwich. And she always insisted on buying me a diet Dr. Pepper! Lots of good memories.
