Mary was married to my brother until his death. She was a great wife and mother. We called her Cookie. She was beautiful inside and out, and I loved her very much.

Mary Catherine (Mack) Fagan was born to Frank and Addie Mae Mack on September 8, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas.  While she left this world on September 24, 2023, she will remain forever in our hearts.

At the risk of appearing mundane, the most outstanding characteristic of this woman was love.  If she loved you - and only the most cruel or greedy were excluded - there was nothing she wouldn’t do for you.  

It’s not often that a woman is blessed with not only physical beauty, but equivalent amounts of personality, social skills, kindness, generosity, fairness, intelligence and strength of character.  If success can be defined as leaving the world a more beautiful place, Mary Catherine Fagan was an indisputably great soul.

Her passion was fostering relations among friends and family.  This resulted in counsel which reflected a wisdom that enhanced their lives beyond belief.

She was a dedicated Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother.  Her lifelong friend, Tami Leper, was a loyal companion to the end.  There were countless others whose relationships were invaluable to her.

The first portion of her retirement years were enjoyed at a Florida beach home her daughter built.  She was very happy there where she relished time with loved ones.  The latter retirement years introduced new friends AJ, John Brown, Ivy, and Lance.  When she wasn’t cheering Maverick’s star Luka Doncic she was dreaming of The Phantom of the Opera’s hit, “Think of Me”.

The family would like to express their appreciation not only to the staff of CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs but for the exceptional care provided by Dr. John Webb.

She was preceded in death by her mother Addie Mae Mack and husband Teddy Westerfield, Sr.  

Mary is survived by her husband, Richard Joseph Fagan, son Teddy Westerfield Jr., daughter Tori Haugen, grandson Jacob Joseph Haugen, granddaughter Alex Caitland Haugen, and sister Frances Hegenberger.
