Mary Kathern Kinsey, born Mary Kathern Counts, on September 24, 1942. Daughter of the late John and Mary Counts and was the younger sister to Howard Edward Counts (wife Martha Counts) and the late Anderson Andrew Counts (wife Janie Counts). She departed at the age of 80.
She is survived by the love of her life, James Ray Kinsey, her daughter, Elecesha Rae Enloe (husband Christopher Enloe) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, three stepchildren, Deborah Kinsey, Brett Kinsey, and Russel Kinsey (wife Darla Kinsey), her grandchildren, Ali Kinsey Keith, Benjamin Enloe, Lauren Bunn, Eric Oberste, Alex Oberste, Amelia Hernandez, and Tanner Kinsey, five great-grandchildren, one niece, one nephew and many cousins.
Kathern was born in Dyess, Arkansas and lived her childhood in Camden, Arkansas. She graduated from San Leandro High School in California. After moving back to Hot Springs, she met and married James Ray Kinsey in 1969. During their early marriage, she worked as a medical transcriptionist at Ouachita Hospital and transitioned to a real estate agent for six years. In 1979, she found her passion as an antique dealer. Over the next 30 years, she amassed an extensive collection of antiques; including vintage clothing and jewelry. She would work the next ten years as a costume designer on many Hollywood Blockbuster films.
Kathern was a woman of faith, and a member of First Baptist Church for 29 years. Kathern wished to have a celebration of life where she wanted to be remembered as funny, silly, and of course a costume designer. Those who really knew her will understand this. We will forever remember her as intelligent, inquisitive, and vivacious.
