After graduating from college Michael proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War; he then spent his life working as a CPA. However, on a Saturday you could always find him enjoying his favorite pastime, college football.
Michael is predeceased by his parents and brother, Edward McAvoy.
His survivors include his son, John McAvoy (Michelle); companion, Julie Queen; sister-in-law, Mary Beth McAvoy; granddaughter, Izzy Jones; dear friend, Kenneth Keith as well as numerous other close friends.
