Born in Kingsford, Michigan to the late Alvin and Agnes Anderson, Andy became an accomplished musician early in life. By the age of 12, he was playing the accordion professionally with much older Jazz musicians. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and became one of the celebrated Navy “Sea Bees” during WWII.
Once back stateside, Andy graduated from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin and began a distinguished management career with AT&T. He retired at 58.
Andy lived in Hot Springs for over 25 years. He became an active member of the Jazz Society, Diamond Head Golf Club, and a friend to many. Genuine and kind hearted, he embraced his new community and they welcomed him with open arms.
Andy was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary; his son-in-law, David Gegare; and many well-loved pups.
Those who will miss him most are his son, Lee Anderson of Owensboro, Kentucky; daughter, April Gegare of Green Bay, Wisconsin; daughter, Dawn (Toby) Funk of Sherwood, Oregon; granddaughters Jenna Funk and Mackenzie Bailey; and his beloved Hot Springs family including Peggy Hale, Jan (Mike) Copeland, and a special pup he called “Rowdy.”
