Patricia “Pat” Anne Hines, 82, of Hot Springs was welcomed to her Heavenly home Monday, December 28, 2020. Pat was born to Ruby Fulenwider Hammack and Thomas D. Hammack on March 17, 1938 in El Dorado, Arkansas and grew up in Lake Charles and Fisher, Louisiana.
A graduate of Mary Harden Baylor University (B.A.) and Baylor University (M.S.), Pat had a 37 year career as a teacher. She taught at Judson College in Alabama; Marrero Jr. High School in LA; Fuller Jr High Little Rock; Fountain Lake High School; and G.C.C.C. (National Park College).
At Fountain Lake, Pat was a very successful tennis coach and was proud of her 7 girls and 4 boys state championship tennis teams. She won Arkansas “Coach of the Year” four times. In 2009, the “Pat Hines” Tennis Courts were dedicated at Fountain Lake Schools.
Pat and her husband of more than 57 years, L.J., loved to travel. They visited all 50 states and 25 European countries.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas B. Hammack of Fort Smith; and sister, Virginia Woodson, of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
She is survived by her husband L.J Hines, Jr; daughter, Karen Jarvey (Rick); grandson Joshua Jarvey all of Hot Springs; brother, James R. Hammack (Audrey) of Oak Grove, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Anita Hammack of Fort Smith; brothers-in-law Lewis Hines (Sandra), Frank Hines (Gail) of Natchitoches, Louisiana, James R. Hines (June) of Reno TX; and Ralph Hines (Julie) of Frierson, Louisiana; sisters-in-law Marilyn Stanley of Ft. Worth, Texas and Laureen Whitley (David) of Yorba Linda, California; many nieces and nephews; and her church family at First Baptist Church of Hot Springs where she was a faithful member.
A Funeral Service for Pat will be held at First Baptist Church on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor John McCallum.
Burial will be private.
