Richard Allen Free

September 11, 1967May 8, 2020

Richard Allen Free, 52, of Hot Springs passed away May 8, 2020.

Born to the late Richard Thomas Free Jr. and Eloise Estelle Free, Richard was rarely without a smile or a bit of chocolate. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents and three of his siblings: Sherry Herron, Darren Arndt, and Alisa Free.

“Send me on my way smiling…,” a fitting quote from Richard’s favorite song, Shinedown’s Call Me.

Richard is survived by his children Crystal Free, Tyler Baker, Destiny Baker, and Breanna Baker; five grandchildren; sister, Debbie Dunfee; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved cousins; dear friends Angela Barron and Eric Wilhemi; and many more friends- all of whom he loved like family. This is especially true of Kenneth Brown, who remained by Richard’s side through his illness and whose friendship was extended to Richard’s children.

A Memorial will be announced at a later date.

I grew up with Richard and have known him for about 40 plus years. We played basketball, football and ran track meets together. He was a generous person and was always full of silliness. He liked to cut up and loved listening to the great 80’s metal bands. We spent most of our teenage years hanging out along with a few other good friends. Although I haven’t seen Richard in about 20 years, I’ll always think of him as my little brother. He will be deeply missed and I know that some day we’ll be getting scolded by GOD!!! Telling us to settle down!!! Rest in piece my brother. Your friend always, Todd Jenkins.
