He was born August 24, 1933 in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late Hubert and Beulah Mae Chapman Schellhorn.
Dick was a very kind hearted and devoted man. For over 45 years, he worked in many capacities with the Bell Telephone (now AT&T) System. In his spare time, he enjoyed HAM radio, playing golf, and traveling. Dick will be missed dearly by his Faith Lutheran Church family where he served as a sound engineer.
He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Robert Harold Schellhorn.
Cherishing his memory are his wife of over 61 years, Marilyn; three children Susan Kutz (Buzz) of Toledo, Ohio, Robert Schellhorn (Amy) of Dallas, Texas, and Nancy Schellhorn James (Peter) of Brisban, Australia; one sister Jeannie Miller (Lloyd); three grandchildren Alexandra, Carlton, and Jackson; several nieces; nephews; and countless friends.
Memorial services to celebrate Dick’s life Tuesday at 2:00 PM, May 29, 2018 in the sanctuary of Faith Lutheran Church-Hot Springs Village with Rev. Robert Benke officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to Faith Lutheran Church or a charity of your choosing.
