Robert Leggett, age 72, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on July 22, 2024. He was a wonderful man, husband, father, and grandfather. He was affectionately known as “Pops”.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lloyd Leggett, his mother, Carol Leggett, and his 3 year old son, Christopher.
Robert is survived by his wife of 29 years Wilma Jean Leggett, his sister; Susan Dimaline of Georgetown, Texas, a son; Justin Leggett (LaGena), two granddaughters; Paisley and Mesa, two grandsons; Eathan Perry (Emma) and Wyatt Perry, daughter; Lindsay Leggett (Coy), granddaughter; Harper, two bonus children; Brandon Norwood, grandsons; Kadan and Kiefer Norwood and Tracey Caldwell (Jeff), grandson; August, and granddaughter; Ivey.
Robert was born September 27, 1951 to Lloyd and Carol Leggett of Fort Worth, Texas. He loved the outdoors, the beach and having all the family over at Christmas. Robert was employed by the Arkansas Department of Corrections for 38 years where he served as the Construction Maintenance Superintendent. He also worked at FedEx after retirement, and would refer to that as his gas money.
In his early years Robert enjoyed modeling Wrangler Western wear at the Apparel Mart in Dallas, Texas. He also enjoyed owning Corvettes and belonging to the Corvette Club. Robert and Jean attend First Baptist Church of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at First Baptist Church on Central Avenue in Hot Springs on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 2:00pm. The service will be officiated by Pastor Bill Newton.
