Sharon King lived with curiosity, warmth, humor, and a spark that made people smile. She passed away suddenly on May 11, 2026 at home. She leaves behind children, grandchildren, dear friends, and neighbors who will miss her deeply.
Born in Mattoon, IL, Sharon’s life journey carried her through Sumner, IL, Indianapolis, South Carolina, and eventually to Little Rock. Along the way, she built lifelong friendships through her work in the insurance industry.
To those who knew her best, Sharon was wonderfully spunky — independent, witty, interested in the world, and always fully herself. She loved the ocean, was fascinated by whales, and, to the surprise of many, was once an adventurous scuba diver. She carried that sense of wonder throughout her life.
Sharon was a voracious reader who could often be found with a book close at hand. She also loved crafting and creating beautiful things. One of her most treasured projects was a magnificent two-story Victorian dollhouse that she and her beloved husband, Frank, lovingly built, decorated, and furnished together — a reflection of the creativity and joy they shared.
While visiting her daughter Zara in Virginia, Sharon met Frank King, the great love of her life. Together they created a life full of laughter, adventure, companionship, and fun. Frank brought lightness and joy to every day they shared, and Sharon flourished in the happiness they built together. After marrying, they made homes in Coral Springs, FL and later Hot Springs, where they loved being part of their neighborhood and community.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Frank King, whose love enriched her life immeasurably, as well as her parents, Bob and Jennie Robinson, whom she lovingly cared for in their final years.
More than anything, Sharon loved her family. She is survived by her children: Laura Andriotis and husband Jim, Taylor White and wife Kelli, and Zara Miller. She was an immensely proud grandmother to Taylor Andriotis, Julia Andriotis, Jack White, and Maggie Hill McDonald, and she delighted in their lives, interests, and accomplishments.
Her children and grandchildren knew her as someone who truly cared — someone who listened, encouraged, laughed easily, and remained deeply interested in the people she loved.
Sharon accepted Christ as her Savior, and her family finds comfort in knowing she is now reunited in Heaven with Frank and so many loved ones who went before her.
She will be remembered for her lively spirit, her intelligence, her love of adventure, and the love she gave to family and friends. Her presence made life brighter, more interesting, and more fun.
A Drop in Gathering to celebrate Sharon’s memory will be at Mount Carmel Community Clubhouse on Thursday, May 28, from 2-4. Please note that Mount Carmel is just off Highway 5. Turn at the Balboa Gate drive, but the facility is outside the Village gates.
